Scott was born in Birkenhead and raised just South of Glasgow in Scotland. He played the guitar and sang lead vocals in his first band “The Sharps” a reggae band started with mates from school. They got to support Aswad for a tour of Scotland.
He became inspired to learn bass guitar after seeing Jaco Pastorius with Joni Mitchell on a televised gig, he then moved to Newcastle where he played in bands for a couple of years, settling in London in 1984. After joining bands and getting gigs through word of mouth, Scot began to get work as a session musician. Artists include:

| | | Scott met Miles Bould through Dominic Miller’s band Iguazu where they hit it off and have been mates for many years. He has been a major contributor to the sound and style of bands Goosebump and Peoplespeak. A multi-instrumentalist, he writes and records using Bass, Guitar, Keyboards, Double Bass and Vocals and is a co-producer with Miles and Mike Westergaard for production team Dime a Dozen.
Scott is currently playing guitar in Mamayo and recording with Morecheeba.
